When you plan your international shipping to Bolivia, The following documents are required for customs clearance:
- Valid Passport
- Inventory (original and four copies) in Spanish without values
- Insurance Policy (original and two copies)
When shipping goods overseas to Bolivia, The following items customs guidelines will need to be met:
- CUSTOMER’S PRESENCE IS REQUIRED FOR CUSTOMS CLEARANCE
- Duty-free entry for foreign diplomats
- Bolivian diplomats returning to Bolivia are not entitled to duty-free exemptions
- Non-diplomats can import used household goods and personal effects, but they are subject to duties and taxes
When shipping goods overseas to Bolivia, The following items are dutiable and/or restricted:
- New items (invoice required)
- Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products
- Food (Phytosanitary Certificate required)
- Medicine
- Plants (Certificate of Sanitation)
- Carpets
- Precious metal objects, jewelry and coins
- ALL OF THE ABOVE REQUIRE AN IMPORT PERMIT
- All liquor within a shipment will be subject to duty and tax. Must present an inventory with exact number of bottles. Importer’s presence is required. Subject to payment of 42% over CIF value
When shipping goods overseas to Bolivia, The following items are prohibited from entry into the country:
- Weapons, ammunition and explosives
- Drugs and narcotics
- Pornographic material
When shipping Motor Vehicles overseas to Bolivia, The following documents and regulations will apply:
- CUSTOMER’S PRESENCE IS REQUIRED FOR CUSTOMS CLEARANCE
- Taxes and duties apply
- Authorization MUST be obtained prior to shipping from SGS or Inspectorate for vehicles of F.O.B. value over $12,000
- Only left-hand drive cars allowed
- Documents required:
- Commercial Invoice
- Certificate of driving conditions, proving that the vehicle is in good condition
- Insurance Policy (original and two copies)
- Certificate of Origin
- Verifying Certificate (for non-diplomatic vehicle shipments)
- Description of car (make, year, model, etc.)
- Title
- Registration
Moving Pets to Bolivia: The following documents must be presented for the importation of pets:
- Health Certificate and inoculation required
- Most pets can be imported provided the shipper has a certificate of health and recent proof of rabies vaccination. Importer must be present for clearance. May be subject to payment of 32% duty.
